HEB (store) Cajun Boudin
Location: Bought at an HEB store in San Antonio, TX
Ambiance:  A great store with a fantastic selection of gourmet and standard products.
OVERALL RATING: C+
THE BOUDIN

Cost: About $2.00 for 12 oz.
Presentation:  Found in the "sausage"section of a major grocery store chain: Tightly sealed in a thick vacuumed pack.
Casing: Not a bad casing after about 10 minutes in the rice cooker.
Rice/Meat Ratio: Minute pebbles of meat are surrounded by large quantities of rice.
Texture: Tightly packed and kind of pasty with lots of undercooked rice: Greasy with an off-putting yellowish/greenish juice that leaks from the link after cooking.
Spices: Mild
Overall Taste:  Not disgusting, but not delicious. Plenty of heavily limped parsley (probably dried) gives a hint of flavor.  The pork flavor is indecipherable.
Comments: Hmm.  Some things are better left to the professionals.
