LeBlanc’s Specialty Meats in Lafayette, LA – A Rated Boudin

LeBlancs_Boudin_2Ambiance:  A neat Northside store bringing a lot of passion and love to their business and the products they make.  The store is just off the Interstate (at the University exit) and it should be a stop for anyone looking for a good to great link of boudin.  The staff is really friendly and the owner might just be in the parking lot grilling up something special!!

A couple of super juicy links from LeBlanc’s Specialty Meats.

Price: $3.89 per lb.

Presentation:  The massive links are available in two varieties: regular and spicy.  Both are kept behind the counter in a warmer where they’re kept at the perfect temperature for you to scarf them down right after purchasing.

Casing: The casing here is thick and durable.  It needs to be to keep this fully packed link intact!

The smooth interior of LeBlanc’s Spicy Hot Boudin.

Meat/Rice Ratio: More meat than rice.  Your carnivorous cravings will be satisfied.

Texture: Smooth and creamy best describes this link.  There is plenty of juice and all the other ingredients sort of cooperate within the moist playground that is this link’s textural setting.

Spice: The regular link has medium heat and the Spicy link is HOT!!!

Overall Flavor:   All the flavors really work well in this link.  It is a bit greasy, but it is is perfectly blended and the spice blend compliments the entire product.

Comments:  LeBlanc’s is one of these places that we’re lucky to have in South Louisiana: A dedicated Specialty Meat shop run by locals who care about what they’re making and who they’re serving.  Give them a try and let them know we sent you.
